Pet Art

I have been painting animals and pets as gift art for friends and colleagues for some years now. Like painting human portraits from real life, making pet protraits from photographs presents its own joys and challenges. Each animal has their character and personality, which one can strive to capture in a more focused way (than one cn see in a photograph) with a few brushstrokes.

I mostly use Chinese brushes with watercolour utilised in an ink-like fashion, though I am open to trying out inks, acrylics, pastels, charcoal and even lino printing.

Currently open for commissions, Prices £25 – £250, depending on size, medium, timescale and level of complexity of the image. For example a small (A7) monochrome (purple-blue, unless otherwise specified) watercolour with moderate complexity can cost £25, while a large (A3) full colour watercolour with a higher level of detail can cost £250.

Paintings will be based on an emailed photo and will be posted to the commissionig party once complete and following payment.
